Suresh Wadkar’s Ajivasan Music Academy has taken a new initiative to spread awareness and knowledge around Music. The idea is to get music lovers to hear from various music professionals about their journey, challenges, career options and exciting nuances.

Ajivasan ACT is an initiative that aims at highlighting the Art, Commerce and Technology (ACT) of Music.
This event has multiple panel discussions with celebrities and professionals, along with master classes with experts and a thrilling music concert.

CINTAA conducts acting masterclass with Lilliput

On the 26th of August 2022, CINTAA, in affiliation with  writer Liliput, conducted a masterclass open to members as well as non-members, where he advised actors on traversing through each step of their career as well as improving their repertoire.

During the course of the masterclass, Lilliput talked about his love for acting that started in his school years in Gaya, how he let that passion guide him in his journey, the inspirations he had throughout his career and the things he saw change in the industry. He then related his anecdotes to the issues the aspiring actors would face in their career as well. He talked about how his dwarfism made him stronger, as he had to become able to laugh off the discrimination that he faced to be able to work comfortably among it. He also talked about observing early on in his career that it is easy to act physically handicapped, to act lame or blind for example, but dwarfism is not something an able-bodied person can mimic so easily, as there is no actual disability in most, just a smaller stature. He then asked the audience, all actors or aspiring actors to perform a given scene, and gave them each advice on how to make themselves felt more clearly.

This masterclass was conducted in the presence of members Tinaa Ghaai, Abhay Bhargava, Sanjay Bhatia and Satish Vasan among others at the CINTAA office in Andheri.

Roopkumar Rathod, Leslee Lewis, Kavya Jones grace Sanjukta Arun's Into The Deep at Jehangir Art Gallery

"Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet and the winds long to play with your hair," says Renowned artist Sanjukta Arun whose current exhibition 'Into The Deep' is being held at the  Jehangir Art Gallery, Kala Ghoda from Aug 30-Sept 5. The series on display brings to the fore the beauty and importance of Nature and the tearing need to attend to the wake up call, to save Mother Earth.

"Creating awareness about our environment is of extreme importance because it can help to minimise the damage caused due to destruction caused by industrialisation, pollution and modernisation leading to Global warming," et al reflects Sanjukta.

 "My current series focuses on the beauty of nature in its myriad hues. It is time we realise that our existence totally depends on how we take care of our planet."

Sharvari Wagh, Brinda Miller, Sanjog Kabare, Chanda Jadhav, Shashi Bala announce MVP Project winners

The MVP Project initiated by BMC in association with Kala Ghoda Association saw two winners yesterday declared by Sharvari Wagh,  Brinda Miller, Sanjog Kabare -- DMC Special, Chanda Jadhav -- Dy. Municipal Commissioner,  Shashi Bala , Business Head MCGM among others. The 1st prize went to Team Tickle Talkies for the original track The Mumbai Dhanak by Saisamarth Mulay, while the 2nd prize was bagged by Team Thinking Mode for the original track Mumba by Dee MC & D'Evil. RJ Apoorva was the MC, jury members Nirmika Singh -- Editor, The Rolling Stone Mag and Music Director Milind Joshi were present as well.

CINTAA teams up with CPAA Rotary Club of Mumbai Airport District 3141 to organise free medical camp on Independence Day, Anupam Kher attends and shows support

To commemorate our Nation's 75 years of Independence, a milestone number, as the day where we get freedom from ill health with preventive checkups, actor Anupam Kher inaugurated the CINTAA-CPAA Medical camp at CINTAA office, Andheri West, in the presence of members Amit Behl, Abhay Bhargava, Deepak Qazir, Kejriwal, Ravi Jhankal, young actor Vardhan Puri, Anita Peter from CPAA, Rajiv Puri and Rotary Club President Suvendu Mishra. Anupam Kher himself came to the camp and got his primary check up done. While talking to the media, he said, "I appreciate this noble initiative of CINTAA and  as well as The Rotary Club of Mumbai Airport 31412 that is benefiting the common man." Apart from this, Anupam Kher gave his full support to PM Narendra Modi's Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and said, "I appreciate Modi ji's Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and I am seeing every house, every street, people are following this campaign. I have never seen such a big campaign before and this patriotism and spirit should come from within. Women power should be respected".

This initiative from CINTAA is one of the welfare activities coupled with our deep concern for the wellbeing of its members.

"As a member centric association for the actors, we truly stand committed and united with our thousands of members at all times," avered CINTAA General Secretary and Spokesperson Amit Behl. Attended by more than 350 members, the medical camp saw doctors taking members' complete body checkup, including weight, pulse, blood pressure, ECG, eye checkup, gynaecological checkup, dental check-up besides cancer detection. Apart from this, the camp also saw a session on the ill-effects of smoking.

All in all, a move to illustrate that prevention is better than cure.

The CINTAA-CPAA camp was supported by The Rotary Club of Mumbai Airport District 3141.

Mumbaikar Lalit Patil captures slums and immortalises their landscape in his canvas

Lalit Patil, a Mumbaikar visual artist from three decades, is a Slum Star in his own right. He actually converts slums into timeless masterpieces.

His exhibition at Jehangir Art Gallery, Gallery 3,  titled Landscape of Identities was inaugurated by Padma Shri Sudharak Olwe, art collector Parvez Damania, playback singer Madhushree and her composer husband Robby Badal, actress Rupali Suri, celeb nutritionist Rusha Madhwani and director-egalitarian earth warrior Anusha Srinivasan Iyer, sculptor-curator Sanjay Nikam among others.

 The artist in Lalit Patil spends his free time not just observing the city, but looks at the slums as his inspiration. "Munbai is a complex place -- it makes space for the denizens that flow into the city and makes them its own. Whether it be with its buildings,  slums and people, they are all enveloped by Mumbai," avers Patil.
The structure of the slums hold a strange fascination for the artist. Says he, "Slums have  an unexpected structure wherein they are houses enveloping the area, with light passing through  darkness, forming shapes. These. Structures  in juxtaposition with huge buildings in the background have their own story to tell. They define the metaphase if the city." This structure of complexity and abstract form replete with human emotion and the bond to stay alive keeps the city alive as much. It is this emotional aspect in the  landscape that excites me most."

Unlike others, Patil prefers spot paintings. He actually visits the slums and captures each moment he experiences in his frozen frames. "Each stroke represents an emotion for me," he enthuses.  Patil's conceptual work titled 'Landscape of Identities' is such that  every piece of art has its own definition, a tale, an identity.  He has even made special sections where scrap creates its own canvas. "I believe my works strongly define me, you, the people of Mumbai, us," he concludes.

 

The Music Video Project (MVP) by MCGM with Kala Ghoda Arts Festival brings to you a celebration of our diverse, creative and inclusive city of Mumbai, The Music Video Project (MVP) Kick Off, powered by 48 Hour Film Project kicked off with dignitaries on July 29, at 5pm at Rude Lounge, Powai with 12 musicians, 70 film teams.

An initiative of Mumbai --  City of  Film and UNESCO -- Member of The Creative Cities Network, the music curated by Wobble Creative and Content  Channel Partner -- Pocket Films, the event saw a bevy of dignitaries including

बड़े दिग्गजो की टोली करेगी टैलेंटस को जज! शांतनु मोइत्रा, भरत दाभोलकर, रीमा कागती एमवीपी के संगीत समारोह जैसी बड़ी हस्तियां शामिल, जिसमें होंगे 49 से अधिक कलाकार

 सोने की राहों में सोने का जगह नहीं, बप्पी लहिरी का गाया हुआ ये गाना वाकई पूरी तरह से जीवन की सच्चाई को बयां करता हैं।

 मुंबई हमेशा सपने देखने वालों के लिए संगीतमय रही है। बॉलीवुड ने हमेशा हिट नंबर बनाने के लिए महानगर को प्रेरणादायक पाया है।
 कोई आश्चर्य नहीं कि एमवीपी (म्यूजिक वीडियो प्रोजेक्ट) और बीएमसी, काला घोड़ा कला महोत्सव (केजीएएफ) के सहयोग से दुनियाभर में मुंबई सिटी के संगीत का डंका बजाने और वहाँ की हवा में संगीत की महक को दुनिया में फैलाने की कोशिश कर रहा हैं इस नेक पहल से। जहाँ पहले से 40 टीमें हैं और 9 एकल संगीतकार हैं
 संगीत निर्माता मिलिंद जोशी और शांतनु मोइत्रा, निर्देशक-पटकथा लेखक रीमा कागती, विज्ञापन और थिएटर के दिग्गज भरत दाभोलकर, मनीषा डे, जो Gaana.com के लिए प्रोग्रामिंग और कंटेंट की प्रमुख हैं और रॉलिंग स्टोन की संपादक निर्मिका सिंह जूरी पैनल में हैं।

 रीमा कागती कहती हैं, ''मुंबई हमेशा से एक प्रेरणा रही है - इसका प्यार, इसकी जीवंतता, संस्कृति, लोग, भोजन...सब कुछ।  मैं इन वीडियो के साथ शहर के सार और संस्कृति का जश्न मनाने के लिए उत्सुक हूं।"

मैं कुछ ऐसा ढूंढती हु जो जिस संगीत की योजना  वास्तविक हो और उसकी क्रिएटिव एक्सक्यूशन भी ओरिजिनल हो। ये मात्र एक वीडियो नही हैं जहाँ संस्कृति, परंपराओ का मेल .धर्म,भोजन, संगीत और कला को सेलिब्रेट किया गया हैं बल्कि यहां महानगर मुम्बई की पर्यावरण,और उसकी विविधता को कैप्चर किया जाएगा"।


 शांतनु मोइत्रा कहते हैं, ''अपने सपनों को साकार करने के लिए भारत भर से हर दिन सैकड़ों लोग मुंबई आते हैं.  वीडियो में लोगों के आंतरिक विचारों को दर्शाया जाना चाहिए और जब वे उन सपनों को बुनते हैं तो यह शहर कुछ ऐसा होना चाहिए जो मेरे दिल को छू जाए जिसे मैं  बार-बार देखना चाहता हूँ। ”

 रॉलिंग स्टोन की संपादक निर्मिका सिंह चाहती हैं कि यात्रा एक मजेदार उत्सव हो।  वह कलाकारों को सलाह देती हैं: "मूल बने रहें, प्रामाणिक रहें और खूब मस्ती करें।"

 सहयोगी कलाकार भी उतने ही उत्साहित हैं।  जोया खान कहती हैं, “कुछ तो गड़बड़ गीत, व्यक्तिगत अनुभव से लिमरेंस के बारे में है लेकिन दिल के भीतर आशा है।  गाना शरारतों और गड़बड़ासे भरा है।”

 श्रीराम अय्यर, एक सच्चे मुंबईकर, अपने गीत की बात करते हैं।  “खुद का पता एक हवादार", प्यारा, रोमांटिक ड्राइव तरह का ट्रैक है।  यह आपके चेहरे पर मुस्कान लाता है।"

 मैडमस्ट समूह अपने ट्रैक के पीछे की भावनाओं को व्यक्त करता है।  “कई ऐसे हैं जो किसी न किसी चीज़ की तलाश में मुंबई आते हैं और बहुत चेहरे इस विशाल सागर में घुलमिल जाते हैं।  शहर की भागदौड़, मुंबई से जुड़ी अनगिनत उम्मीदें, सपने और आकांक्षाएं उनके जीवन का हिस्सा बन जाती हैं।  हमारा ट्रैक इस यात्रा के बारे में है।"

 राकेश एंड फ्रेंड्स (आरएएफ) स्पष्ट है।  “हमारा गीत क्रॉस-सांस्कृतिक ध्वनियों को एक कलात्मक कृति में मिलाता है।  मुंबई अपनी आस्तीन पर अपना दिल पहनती है, चलते रहने का प्रयास करती है और प्यार की एकीकृत भावना द्वारा निर्देशित एक जातीयता के साथ अराजकता से बच जाती है। ”

 स्वरूपा अनंत उर्फ तबलानारी कहती हैं, “एक तालवादक होने के नाते, मेरे ट्रैक में स्पष्ट रूप से टकराने वाले तत्व हैं, जो आधुनिक समकालीन ध्वनियों के बेस पर सेट हैं।  ट्रैक ढोल के साथ स्तरित है और उत्सव की आवाज़ें अक्सर मुंबई की सड़कों पर सुनाई देती हैं, साथ ही रोज़मर्रा की आवाज़ें जो हम एक मुंबईकर के रूप में सुनते हैं।
 मैं संगीतकारों और फिल्म निर्माताओं के बीच सहयोग की भावना को लेकर उत्साहित हूं।  दृश्य और ध्वनि हमेशा साथ-साथ चले हैं और इस तरह का एक मंच ही रिश्ते को मजबूत करता है। ”


 विजेता वीडियो को सम्मानित किया जाएगा और मुंबई में एक हाई-प्रोफाइल कार्यक्रम में प्रदर्शित किया जाएगा, और चयनित वीडियो को यूसीसीएन के आगामी कार्यक्रम और कई अन्य अंतरराष्ट्रीय अवसरों पर सैंटोस, ब्राजील में भी प्रदर्शित किया जाएगा।


 म्यूजिक वीडियो प्रोजेक्ट की परिकल्पना और क्रियान्वयन 48 ऑवर फिल्म प्रोजेक्ट इंडिया द्वारा किया गया है।  वॉबल क्रिएटिव एंड कंटेंट संगीत को क्यूरेट करने के लिए उनका पार्टनर है।


म्यूजिक वीडियो प्रोजेक्ट किक ऑफ इवेंट शुक्रवार 29 जुलाई, 2022 को शाम 5 से 8 बजे तक मुम्बई के रूड लाउंज पवई में होगा। जिसमें से 12 संगीतकारों ने एमवीपी के साथ अपना ओरिजनल ट्रैक शेयर किया हुआ हैं।  प्रतियोगिता में 40 से अधिक टीमें भाग ले रही हैं।  प्रत्येक टीम को चिटों की रैंडम पिकिंग के माध्यम से एक ट्रैक आवंटित किया जाएगा।  उनके पास फिल्म की स्क्रिप्ट, शूट, एडिट और सबमिट करने के लिए 15 दिन का समय है।  प्रविष्टि जमा करने की अंतिम तिथि शनिवार 14 अगस्त, 2022 है।
इसके अलावा विजेता घर पर नकद पुरस्कार भी लेकर जाएगा।

सेलेब्रेटी कॉलोमिस्ट निशा जामवाल ने कलाकार लता बालकृष्ण के लिए की अद्भुत मेजबानी , और उनके द्वारा बनाये गए 'मींडरिंग्स' प्रस्तुत किये!

 निशा जामवाल, अपने आप में कला का भंडार, एक सेलिब्रिटी कॉलमिस्ट, कला क्यूरेटर, इंटीरियर आर्किटेक्ट और इंटीरियर स्टाइलिस्ट ने हाल ही में आज के मॉडर्न जमाने की भारतीय कलाकार लता बालकृष्ण की मींडरिंग्स प्रस्तुत की, जिनकी कला उन्होंने ताजमहल होटल आर्ट गैलरी में प्रदर्शित की, जिसमें प्रसिद्ध एमएफ हुसैन और एफएन सूजा के कार्यों का भी प्रदर्शन किया गया है।

 निशा जामवाल द्वारा पेश किया गया ये पांच दिवसीय कला उत्सव,इस साल का  कोविड के बाद का सबसे चर्चित कार्यक्रम था।  प्रसिद्ध कला संग्रहकर्ता, कला प्रेमी,कौंसुल जनरल, लेखक, शीर्ष पुलिस आयुक्त, कॉर्पोरेट जगत के सीईओ, अभिनेता, गायक, मॉडल, फैशन डिजाइनर, निशा जामवाल के सभी दोस्त, रेका काला घोड़ा में एक ग्रैंड डिनर के साथ शुरू हुए इस शो में शामिल हुए।  

चमक-धमक से भरपूर इस बेहद रंगीन इस शाम में लगे पेंटिंग में बने सफेद रंग की टेक्सचर्ड और बादलों  के कंपन और पानी की खूबसूरती मेहमानों को मंत्रमुग्ध कर रही थी जो हमें जीवन के यथार्थ की खोज में ले जाते हैं।

 निशा जामवाल,मरियम अकबर खान के गोल्डन रंग के गाउन में बेहद हसीन लग रही थी जो मेहमानों को वॉकिंग टूर पर ले गईं और शो 'मींडरिंग्स' में काम के बारे में बात की, जिसमें लता की व्यस्तता को उनके जीवन की यात्रा के सही अर्थ के बारे में सवालों के साथ दिखाया गया ।

निशा जामवाल कहती हैं, "लता बालकृष्ण ने मुझे अपना काम देखने के लिए आमंत्रित किया, जैसा कि दुनिया भर के कई कलाकार इस इच्छा से करते हैं कि मैं उनके लिए एक शो की मेजबानी करूं।  मैं ज्यादा उम्मीद किए बिना चली गयी जैसा कि मैं हमेशा करती हूं।  यह कहना एक अंडर स्टेटमेंट होगा कि मैं उन कैनवस के रूप में व्याख्या करती थी जो रंगीन बारीकियों और अनुभव के दंगे के साथ जीवन के प्रवाह की बात करते हैं।

 छाया और धूप की चीयरोस्कोरो, बहते पानी में रंगों की बौछार को देख मैं उसकी दुनिया में खींची चली गयी। जहां 'मैंडरिंग' का टाइटल मेरे दिमाग में सिर्फ इसीलिए नही आया क्योंकि जलंधर की रहनेवाली, बचपन से ही दुनिया घूमने की अभिलाषी और कुछ अलग ढूंढने की उसकी प्यास थी जबकि मैंने उसके दिमाग मे कला के लिए एक यात्रा भी देखी। जो अपने आप मे अद्भुत हैं"।

 पूरी दुनिया में महिलाओं को मल्टीटास्किंग चुनौतियों का सामना करना पड़ता है और घर और बाहर के कामों को मैनेज करना होता हैं।यहां तक की चैंपियन को भी जीवन मे आनेवाली चुनौतीपूर्ण बाधाओं के ऊपर चलना होता हैं जी जिंदगी उनको देती हैं। बाहर काम करना, और घर भी चलाना,बच्चे पैदा करना और उनका पालन-पोषण करना, परिवार की जरूरतों की देखभाल और प्रबंधन करना- एक भारतीय और संयुक्त परिवार और जहाँ पुरुषों को सबसे ऊपर समझा जाता हैं उन भावनाओ को खोदना और उसे कैनवास पर उतनी ही खूबसूरती से उभाराना बहुत बड़ी कला हैं"।

 मैं लता के कैनवास पर उतारी गई, इन भावनाओं को देख स्तब्ध हो गयी, जो जीवन के विभिन्न रंग, संस्कार और सामाजिक रूढ़िवादी परंपरा और गहरी सोच को दिखाती हैं"।

 13 जून तक  के लिए जहांगीर आर्ट गैलरी में राम प्रतिहार की लगभग 25 सर्वश्रेष्ठ पेंटिंग विज़िटर्स के लिए प्रदर्शन के लिए रखी गयी हैं।

Every artist dips his brush into his soul, and then emerges a masterpiece. This seems to be so true for artist Rini Dhumal.   The Power of

Shakti: A Retrospective of Rini Dhumal  at the National Gallery of modern art speaks volumes for the artist and each of her works that reflect her strength and resilience  radiating in its  light. Rini Dhumal's powerful works have always brought out the extraordinary  strength in the ordinary  Indian woman. Her works of art were strongly rooted in Indian culture at the same time, effortlessly embraced

the influences of her foreign travels and their influence.

Her studio situated on the first floor of her residence was recreated at NGMA besides the powerful

ambience for the works, thanks to the efforts of  Adwaita Charan Garanayak, Director General, NGMA who has also curated the   exhibition.

Rini Dhumal's retrospective -- Shakti is on view from Saturday, 21st May, 2022 onwards.

The preview of the exhibition was graced by Brinda Miller, Nisha Jamwwal, Sudarshan Shetty, Pheroza Godrej, Vilas Shinde, Director General NGMA, Adwait Gadanayak, PD Dhumal, Radhika Dhumal, Shashi Bansal, Kalpana Gandhi, Vinod Sharma, Madhu Sharma, Sanjana Shelat, Jayanti Rabadia, Madhusudan, Jain Kamal, Kuldeep Koregaonkar among others.

The exhibition

is on view from Saturday, 21st May, 2022 onwards.

Shakti was scheduled to open in December, 2020, but the COVID -19 pandemic wreaked havoc and

thus, the show was postponed by a year. Unfortunately, Rini Dhumal passes away

rather unexpectedly in September, 2021. Hence the retrospective.

Legendary Leslee Lewis and his precocious singer Kavya Jones joined hands once again with Kavya

Jones' singles Tu Hai Mera. The song video was shot at Monochrome Studios, Mumbai. Kavya, a true protege of Leslee Lewis rocked the day effortlessly transitioning from singing style to another, transversing a gamut of emotions.
Says Leslee Lewis. "I composed this song keeping Kavya Jones' personality in mind. She is immensely dedicated and that is a rarity today. In the last four years that she has assisted me, I understand her colours. This song is  reflecting her true persona of scarlet and black. And adds to it diverse colours that are as vibrant as her. Tu Hai Mera, composed and produced by Leslee Lewis and set to vocals by Kavya Jones is expected to release on May 18.

Heritage is in itself a manifestation of culture and inheritance evolving with time. CINTAA awards COVID Yodhas at Zonal Meet

The adverse impact of the pandemic has been most on CINTAA members under the lowest economic rung in their fraternity. The senior members are affected most as they are more prone to health issues and very little or no work. The Zonal structure of CINTAA helped these members get through the pandemic.




To laud the untiring efforts of the Zonal Team members during the times of the pandemic, a commendation ceremony was held at the office of CINTAA on 26th January 2022.

CINTAA awarded citation certificates to their Corona Warriors who did work to lend support and assistance to other members in distress, distributed Food Rations & Medicines to other members who endured much turmoil during COVID times.

Fifty-eight warriors were awarded. The zonal team members shared stories of their struggles and how CINTAA, through each of its members, helped them through it.

For the uninitiated, the zonal structure of CINTAA comprises its own members who form a team, dividing duties amongst themselves as per the geographical locations of Greater Mumbai and its extended suburbs stretching upto Virar and Panvel.
Mr. Ghanshyam Srivastva is the Chief Convenor of the Zonal structure.
An endeavour of the outreach committee, the sole purpose is to form a united platform whereby members of CINTAA get connected with other members of CINTAA who happen to dwell in close proximity to each other.
The structures help members stay connected with each other. Senior members are visited regularly to keep a tab on their well-being. Certain members also visit members in need regularly and ensure that they are just a call away.

CINTAA meets Labour Commissioner to ensure enforcement of actor rights

In a bid to discuss concerns regarding changes to regulations in the wake of the third wave of COVID-19 in India, and to spell out the several challenges endured by the actors, CINTAA dignitaries including Joint Secretary Sanjay Bhatia, CEO Satish Vasan and Executive Committee Member Hetal Parmar met with Addl. Commissioner of Labour Shirin S Lokhande and Secretary madam labour dept. Smt Vinita Ved Singhal -IAS Principal Secretary at Kaamgar Bhavan, BKC.

The major concerns which the Honourable Labour Commissioner took note of were the following:

• Actors working for less than seven days a month shall be brought under contract and to be paid within 30 days
• Children should not work for more than 8 hours a day and there should be appropriate guidelines.
• Contract copies of the actors shall be given to the actors at the earliest.
• Women and Child actors shall be provided pickup and drop from their homes in case of odd hours of shooting shifts like very early call time and late-night pack up.
• Request for a uniform contract and include the broadcasters as a party to the contract.
• Attention of the Additional Commissioner being drawn to the payment delays/defaults by producers.

• Reluctance by producers to hand over copy of the talent agreement to the artiste was put forth and she categorically emphasized that both parties to the agreement should have a copy of the same.
A written representation was given to the commissioner and all in all an eventful meeting to ensure the voice of actors  be heard.
